Lego jurassic world set reviews10/28/2023 Even the mighty Indominus Rex, impressive as it is, could stand to have more detail and articulation, while most of the smaller ones are constructed from only four to eight pieces total. One major downside to the line is that the dinosaurs themselves are a touch basic. The price is steep on this one, but there's a lot to get out of it. It also includes a helicopter (smaller than the one in Pteranodon Capture but with its own missile system) and four minifig characters. The bulk of the kit is made up of the compound that the I-Rex escapes from, and features a launcher for another gyrosphere, a search tower, crane and giant moving doors - every section of it has some interesting facet or play feature tucked away. The title dino, Jurassic World's chimeral nightmare beast, is very good, with articulation points at the claws, shoulders, legs, jaw, and tail. It's an almost dauntingly massive set, built over two nights in this case. For reference, the instruction manual is more than 210 pages long, and the box contains 13 bags of bricks to work through. The price point definitely puts it into collectors' territory (or the hands of very lucky/spoiled children) and it has a level of detail and intricacy to match. The monster of the range though is the Indominus Rex Breakout (kit ref 75919, RRP £99.99). The raptors themselves are a bit of a disappointment though, identical but for paint job. With a separate cab and mounted trailer, it features some more clever design work, with a rotating tranquiliser cannon that can be mounted on the roof or slid into the back using ridges built into the interior. The vehicle is a good size for the price, a nicely elevated ride with chunky wheels that make it feel suitably imposing. It's the only set in the range to feature Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters from the film, Owen and Claire, in minifig form, but also includes two raptors, another ACU security guy, a motorcycle, and a bulky transport van. Raptor Rampage (kit ref 75917, RRP £49.99) starts getting into pricier territory.
